The season six finale of the smash-hit television series The Walking Dead premieres on April 3, 2016 on AMC. The show is an adaptation of the popular comics and was developed by horror director Frank Darabont, who directed The Mist. This show is about a deadly zombie outbreak occurring and a small group of survivors must team up to survive.

But as the series moves along, characters don’t have to take on the dead. They battle something even more dangerous: the living. The living are enemies who would want to kill someone for supplies for themselves or who desire to kill people for no reason.

The Walking Dead revolves around suspense, a desolate atmosphere, and creative storytelling more than fine acting.

The show takes a nightmare generally told in movies and opens it up for the medium of TV. It’s optimistic that Darabont & Co. will continue to find ways to make the characters interestingly human as they dodge death’s slow, ruthless pursuit.

Critics say the show just gets better as seasons continue as they add more interesting characters, more brutality, and more horrific zombies and special effects. The special effects and the zombies often referred to as “walkers” were designed and created by special effects makeup artist Greg Nicotero.

Nicotero is not only the makeup artist on the show, but he is also an executive producer and even the occasional director. Whenever viewers see episodes such as No Sanctuary, Conquer, or First Time Again that involve a lot of deaths, brutality or terrifying, bloody, and flesh ripping zombie effects, that is the work of Greg Nicotero.

The Walking Dead features a group of talented actors. Andrew Lincoln (Love Actually) is the show’s main protagonist Rick Grimes, a former police officer who becomes the leader of the survivors throughout the seasons after awakening from a coma. Other stars of the show consist of fan-favorites: Norman Reedus, Danai Gurira, Steven Yeun, Lauren Cohan, Chandler Riggs, Melissa Mcbride, Michael Rooker, Scott Wilson and David Morrissey.

Fans and critics only have positive comments about the show. Walking Dead fan, Nick Taylor says it is the “best show I have ever seen.” Another fan, Steve Thibeault says, “It’s the best show since Breaking Bad.”
Catch the season finale on April 3, 2016, and if you like that, catch the premiere of season 7 in mid-October.
