The Girls Soccer team got down to serious business in the 2nd half against a tough defensive Coe Brown team, improving to 10-1-1. One minute into the half, defender Nikki Heiter sent a long, high ball forward to Renee LeBlanc, who one timed a loft over the charging keeper and away from pursuing defenders. 3 minutes later, Paige Magnuszewki’s pass got LeBlanc in alone again, and she made a move past the charging keeper, slotting it home for the 2-0 lead. Coe Brown made it tight, scoring off a corner with 20 minutes left. The game might have been tied, if not for a stunning reaction at close range by keeper Christina Balsamo. Paisley Broadhurst gave the Cavs breathing room again with a nice finish for 3-1 with 13 remaining. Tasha White ripped a late free kick around the wall to make it 4-1. Rachel Brackett and Emma Ruvido rounded out an incredible attaching unit, nicely supported by the back line.
It was the first loss of the season for the JV girls soccer team.
