Born and raised all over New Hampshire but currently living in Hollis, 2014 seems to be an exciting year for Caylin Bowen who, at age 16, is working to finish up her junior year as a senior so she can graduate early. Bowen hopes to attend NCC and Plymouth State (two years at each) which will cut the cost a great deal. She wants to go to these schools to become an English teacher at an alternative school to inspire troubled teens.

One of Bowen’s interests include two summers spent at a writing camp on the Plymouth State Campus. Bowen’s friend of three years, Lizzy Madsen, attended the writing camp as well. Bowen describes herself as “a very picky reader but when [she finds] something she's interested in, good luck prying [her] eyes away from the book.” Some books Bowen has come to love include the Go Ask Alice series, The Fault in Our Stars, Heavier Than Heaven (Kurt Cobain Bio), and Love Janis (Bio on Janis Joplin).

While Bowen aspires to do well in high school and graduate, her top goal is getting to college. “I hope I enjoy it more than high school,” Bowen said.
