Caroline Burns, age 13, has been singing for as long as she can remember. She started posting videos on Youtube at the age of seven, which was about the same time she jumped into her career in musical performance.
Her first big performance was in the musical “Annie” at the age of nine, with the Palace Theater, a group of professional actors and actresses from New York. “I was pretty scared,” recalls Burns on her first performance with the group as the littlest orphan, Molly. “But once the show started, I wasn’t nervous anymore – it was just so exciting.” A year later Burns starred as the lead role of Annie in a youth production.
Since she was ten years old, Burns has entered numerous singing events and competitions, performing at venues such as Hollis Old Home Days. Her most recent audience was the crowd gathered at the NASCAR event held at the New Hampshire Speedway on Sunday, September 22. Burns said that her experience singing the National Anthem so many times for so many events kept her nerves in control, even though it was her largest performance to date.
Although NASCAR is an incredible accomplishment for Burns, who has only been singing professionally for four years, she plans to take her career even farther.
Her main focus would be on the pop and country charts, with Taylor Swift as her guide. “Not only do I love her genre of music, she is also a great influence on her fans.”
Yet her goals don’t stop there. “I would also love to be an actress on Broadway,” says Burns. “My directors at the Palace Theater are my personal role models. They are all very professional and they work so hard.”
Burns has a Youtube channel with over 2,000 subscribers that can be found here.
