Boys’ Lacrosse

The Boys’ lacrosse team looks to set sail this spring. The team had a pretty good run last season, making the first round of playoffs but sadly getting knocked out in that round. They are looking to make a deep playoff run and hopefully even a state title this year. “The team is very motivated this year to make a deep playoff run,” said Dufoe ‘24. “The team recruited lots of kids this year to fill in for the losses of seniors last year.”

Senior Ben Petrella looks to be a captain this year. “As a potential captain and an upperclassman, it’s very important to get the team ready,” he said. “We’re a strong team this year and have great potential. With smaller numbers, we had to refocus our goals to achieve what we are striving for which is to leave everything on the field.” Petrella has a very important role on the team as well: planning. He looks to lead the defense with good communication and motivation.

The team has great leaders and lots of upperclassmen to help motivate the new guys. Rudy Rosa is another defenseman alongside Petrella. “Defense communication is a very important part of the game. If we’re all on the same page it helps a lot,” Rosa said. Defense is key in a team sport like lacrosse.

The boys are ready for the season to start. The team chemistry this year is looking very good. We’re all excited to see the team roll this spring!
