Game Results – Friday 9/27 and Saturday 9/28

Results from Friday/ Saturday – September 27/28 :
The Boys Soccer team lost to Oyster River 2-1. HBHS’s Andy Basque scored a penalty kick in the 18th minute from a foul drawn by JJ Kennedy to tie the game at 1-1 but Oyster River scored in the 67th minute to win the game. Ryan Coutu made 10 saves. Aidan Dufoe, TJ McKenna, Ethan Smith, Noah Swart, and JJ Kennedy had great games.
Boys JV soccer played a good Oyster River team on Friday afternoon and after taking a 2-1 lead into the second half ended up suffering a 3-2 loss.  Joe Mahoney opened the scoring on a nice pass from defender Zach Lussier.  Midfielder Jonah Sacks scored the Cavs second goal after taking a quick pass from Owen Damon.  Luke Wang and Even Rosenblatt were strong on defense.
The Volleyball team improved to 8-0 with a 3-0 sweep of Concord. Scores were 25-13 , 25- 17, and 25-19. Top performers were Angelina Leonard, 26 assists, Hanna Close 9 kills, and Kayleigh Whalen 9 kills.  The home stand continues on Monday with the Cavaliers welcoming the 2017 Division II finalists, Portsmouth. The JV team also won.
The Cross Country teams competed at the Coe-Brown Invitational.  The top team finishers were Amy Pattelena (27th, 21:27) and Luke Laborde (79th, 18:47).  The boys team was 17th out of 30 teams and the girls placed 23rd in a field of 27 teams.
The Football team improved to 3-1 with a 49-0 win over Manchester West.   Sander Wimmer threw for 3 touchdowns and ran for 2 more. On the receiving end of the td passes were Quinten Wimmer , Blake Bergerson and AJ Johnson. Additional rushing TD’s were scored by Quinten Wimmer and Kyle Manley. Defense shut out West and held them to 7 first downs in the game. The offensive line was dominant in the win, lead by John Rutledge and Austin Etchells.
Games for Monday – September 30th :
The Jv Football team travels to Manchester West, dismissal at 2pm, bus at 2:15pm and game at 4pm
The Boys Reserve Soccer team hosts Londonderry at 4pm
The Volleyball team hosts Portsmouth, Jv at 5:15pm and V to follow.
