Results from Friday – October 8th

The Volleyball team improved to 12-1 with a 3 game sweep over Alvirne by scores of 25-13, 25-12, and 25-15. Top performers were
Lydia Daskalos 8 kills, 6 aces, 2 blocks, Meaghan Coutu 10 kills, 1 ace, Sophia Jordan 31 assists, 2 aces, and Maia Schneider 6 digs.
The JVA team split their first two matches 25-23, then lost the third 15-11. Standouts include strong all-around play from Lolly Adair, Kate Berrigan and Alanna Grove’s offense, and Anneli DiVirgilio’s setting.
The JVB team swept 25-6 and 25-14. Contributions of note include Angelina Costa with setting, defense from Charlotte Petrella, and offense and serving from Carina Astrid-Carlson.

“The Varsity Field Hockey team traveled to Portsmouth on Friday afternoon for a difficult match up against a top ranked team in Division 2. The Cavs fell to a highly skilled Clippers team 4-0 in the biggest deficit of the season. The Cavaliers look to the week ahead for their final regular season home game on Wednesday versus Derryfield, and they then travel to ConVal on Friday to round out the season.”

The Junior Varsity Field Hockey team defeated Portsmouth 2-0 to earn their second victory of the season on Friday night! Goals were scored by sophomore Katrina Lee and freshman Emily Tebbetts. HB was strong offensively the whole game with great plays by junior Val LaFreniere, sophomore Maeve Mercier, freshman Audrie Green, and midfielder/defender Isabella Martinos. Junior Isabel Moavenian had another shut-out in goal for the JV team with a number of significant saves!

The Football team got a much-needed and deserved win on Saturday beating John Stark 34-8 the defense was very good not giving up any points until the 4th Qtr and led by Greg Dushkin, Tucker Luter, Brady Laub. Isaiah Velez scored on a 55 yd punt return and scored the first TD on a reception. Also scoring was Jayce Cora, Elliot Troddyn, Jack Ingraham, with Riley McQuilkin throwing 3TD passes.

The Boys Soccer team lost 3-2 to Milford High School under the lights on the road. When the match started both teams were undefeated. Milford was 10-0-1 and HBHS was 9-0-2. Milford got on the board first scoring their first goal in the 11th minute of the game. Owen Damon tied the game off a volley 4 minutes into the second half from a Nate McEvoy throw-in. Daniel Sattler scored in the 12th minute of the second half by dribbling through the 18 and scoring on the right side of the goal to put HB ahead of Milford. Milford responded with 15 minutes left to tie the game once again Milford scored their third and final goal with 6 minutes left to win the game. John Sommers and Owen Ford both played goalie in the match and made 8 saves between the two of them.

The JV Boys Soccer team defeated Milford,8-2, for their 5th straight win and unbeaten in their last 7. Scoring goals were Nick Mendez (3), Sam Arnold (2), Owen Gary,
Charlie Hartman-Stone and Daniel Ryckman 1.
