Results from Tuesday – October 19th

The Varsity FH team headed up to the North Country to take on the defending state champs, Kennett. The Cavaliers did not disappoint, bringing their A-game and forcing the game to not only one overtime, but two, and then a shootout. In the first quarter, Bella Haytayan found the back of the net, off of a pass from Kaitlyn Castriotta. The Eagles of Kennett answered back in the second quarter to tie the score up 1-1. The second half would remain scoreless and force OT…HB Put up an amazing fight and didn’t back down for an extra 20 min of field hockey. Even that wasn’t enough to decide a winner, so it was forced to a shootout, where Lindsey Dattis, Hailey Arseneau, Alyssa Hill, Kaitlyn Castriotta, and Bella Haytayan took on the Kennett goalie in 10 separate one on one situations. While Rea Kline held strong in the net for the Cavs. Unfortunately after a back and forth shootout, the Eagles edged the Cavs with one final goal to put them ahead 4-3. The Hollis Brookline Field Hockey team has really shaken up division 2 field hockey and look forward to the years to come. The Girls Soccer team improved to 10-4-1 with a 5-0 win at Sanborn. Lily Bouchard had 2 goals, while Lauren Holt, Madelaine Boudreau, and McKenna Maguire each had one. Sofia Walle, Sienna Anderson, Rachel Brackett, and Maguire had assists. Bailey Dunn had 2 saves

The Boys Soccer team improved to 11-2-2 when they defeated Sanborn High School 2-0 in their Senior match at their last game at the home of the regular season It was a windy cool fall night in Hollis Brookline, but great weather to celebrate the 8 seniors. It felt like the whole community arrived to watch the match. There were at least 26 HB Cavs youth soccer players that joined in the team’s international walk-on. Many of the HB boys middle school team were in attendance, all the parents of these players, and many other members of the community. The scoring began in the 5th minute of the game. Jonah Sacks received a ball from Jesse Gertz inside the 18-yard box and put the ball away getting HB an early lead. HB scored the second and final goal in the 29th minute of the first game. Hunter Crea took a shot from outside the 18-yard box. The ball deflected off a Sanborn player and Aidan Dufoe crashed the net to finish it off. Alexander James played goal for HB and had to make 2 saves. Alexander James, John Kotelly, Aidan Dufoe, Luke Wang, Noah Sinclair, Danny Sattler, Riley Callahan, and Jonah Sacks all contributed to the HB senior match victory.

The Volleyball teams will travel to Nashua North, bus at 4 pm, JV-A at 5 pm, and V at 6:15 pm
