Congratulations to Coach Bob Ouellette and the Girls Swim team for winning the Division II State Championships held at Salem this past weekend. The team finished with 213 pts to beat out second-place Hanover who had 209 pts. Earning Individual State Championships were Cambria Jewett in the 100 yds. Backstroke, Isabella Bobocea in the 100 yds. freestyle and the 200 medley relay team consisting of Ella Cunanan, Gabriella Rizzuto, Cambria Jewett, and Isabella Bobocea who won the event in school-record time. Also scoring team points were Ella Cunanan 50 freestyle, 100 freestyle, Gabriella Rizzuto: 200 yds. Individual medley, 100 yds. breaststroke, Mckenzie Talbot-500 yd. freestyle, 100 yds. butterfly and
Teach-Lou Morel: 100 yds. butterfly, 200 yds individual medley.
The Boys Swim team finished 9th out of 19 schools with Dylan Jewett, Jack Brosnan, Ryan Burgher, and Ben Petrella. They had great showings in the 200 yds. freestyle relay.
Ben Petrella contributed points in the 100 and 200 yds. freestyle events. Congratulations to Individual State Champion Dylan Jewett who won the 100 yds. backstroke and was 3rd in the 100 yds. breaststroke. Congratulations to all the HB swimmers for a tremendous showing at Division 2 State Swimming Championship. (Attached is a team photo of the Girls and Boys Swim Team).
The Alpine Ski teams competed in their last regular meets of the season with the Boys team finishing 1st out of 7 teams and the Girls finishing 4th out of 6 teams. Leading the boys were
Mason Marshall ( 5th), Martin Bergeron(6th), Aiden Cahill(8th), and Benjamin St. John ( 14th). Also racing well were Harry Surrette(15th ) and Jason Babcock( 17th). The girl’s team was led by Annette Schlunk(3rd), Addison Dougherty(21st), and Miranda Bergeron(25th).
The Girls Basketball team lost in the Quarterfinal round of the NHIAA Division II to Bow by a score of 53-29. Elisabeth Stapelfeld had 9pts and Maggie Crooks had 8. Cheyenne Colbert had 17 rebounds and 4 pts. Amanda Robbins also had 4 pts.
The Wrestling team finished out their regular season by going 3-0 at their own Cavalier Classic, with wins over Alvirne (60-0), Bow (51-6), and Windham (57-18). Going 3-0 on the day for the Cavaliers were: Jameson Keller (106), Caden Bruseo (113), Hunter Crea (132), RJ McAdams (145), Troy Moscatelli (152), Ryan Mercier (160), Ethan Bender (170), Justin Colby (182), John McCole (220), and Ethan Strauss (285). The Cavaliers will compete in the Division II State Championships next weekend at Goffstown.
The Ice Hockey team fell to 9-3 on the season, losing a tough one to Belmont- Gilford 3-0.
The Bowling team played their last match of the season against the top 3 teams in the state: Goffstown, Stevens, & Keene. In spite of the tough competition, many bowlers had great days individually. For Varsity, Cassidy Krivis (148, 111), Joe Krivis (142, 143), Rheanna Farquarson (157, 117), and Travis LaFontaine (156, 220) bowled well. As a team, they put up some of their highest scores this season during baker play and even beat Keene on the match in baker. For JV, Jackson Kolb (140, 100), Adriana Rosen (125, 95), and Kathleen Wilkish (134, 87) each bowled well, earning some of their highest scores of the season. As a team, they took one game from Keene & one game from Goffstown in baker. Although both JV and Varsity finished last this meet, they rose to the level of competition and put up a strong fight against some very talented teams.
The Gymnastics team finished in 16th place at the NHIAA Gymnastics State Championships. Top finishers for HB in each event were Bars: Emily Hinchiliffe 43rd; Beam -Emily Hinchiliffe 32nd, Colie Toupin 45th, and Isabella Martinos 52nd; Floor – Emily Hinchcliffe and Elena Reichl tied for 36th; Vault – Emily Hinchiliffe 36th and Elena Reichl 49th. In the All-Around, Emily Hinchcliffe finished 38th.
