The Baseball team stole the lead late in the game in an 8-5 victory over John Stark Regional on Friday to finish the regular season at 15-1 and the #1 seed in the Division II State Tournament. HB got things started in the first inning when Razzaboni doubled on the first pitch of the at-bat, scoring two runs. John Stark Regional scored three runs in the third inning, but Hollis-Brookline Cavaliers Varsity still managed to pull out the victory, when trailing 5-4 in the top of the seventh inning, when Alex Razzaboni singled on a 1-2 count, scoring two runs. Chase Philibotte, Nathan Innerfield, and Jason Crean each had RBIs in the frame. Dylan Morelli was the winning pitcher for the Cavaliers. The lefthander allowed one hit and zero runs over two innings, striking out one and walking zero. Zak Lussier and Charlie Hale entered the game out of the bullpen and helped to close out the game in relief. Hale recorded the last three outs to earn the save for Hollis-Brookline Cavaliers Varsity. Jack Lager started the game for HB. The righthander went two innings, allowing zero runs on one hit and striking out two The Cavaliers scattered 12 hits in the game. Padge MacSeain, Hale, and Razzaboni all managed multiple hits for Hollis-Brookline Cavaliers Varsity. Hale and MacSeain each managed three hits to lead Hollis-Brookline Cavaliers Varsity. Hollis-Brookline Cavaliers Varsity didn’t commit a single error in the field. Gavin Knudsen had the most chances in the field with seven.
The Boys Lacrosse team defeated Pembroke 18 – 7 in a must-win game. With the win, the Cavs secured a spot in the Division II Lacrosse Tournament. The top performers were Jake Roy: 4 goals 2 assist, Tommy Anderson: 3 goals 2 assists, Noah Taylor 1 assist. Grover Farwell: 1 goal 1 assist, Jackson Cikota: 1 assist, Colin Corban: 3 goals,
JP Torgersen: 3 goals 1 assist, Andrew Torgersen: 1 goal 1 assist, Ben Dufoe: 3 assists, Colin Magnuszewski: 1 goal, Rudy Rosa: 1 goal, and Justin Colby: 1 goal and 20/26 face-off win, Tucker Luter had 8 saves in goal.
The Softball team put up a hard-fought battle and came from behind in the fifth inning to tie the game 5-5 but would end up losing 8-6. Kailey Disco had a double. Ally Johnson and Ava Imbrogno each had a single and an RBI. Emily Tebbetts had two singles, a double, and one RBI. Savannah Duquette had a 2 RBI home run. And Austyn Kump had 2 singles and a solo Homerun in the 7th with one RBI. Austyn Kump had 8 strikeouts. The team finishes the regular season at 10-6 and the # 6 seed in the Division II Softball State Tournament.
The Girls Lacrosse team was defeated by Goffstown 12-11 and finished the regular season at 13-4 and the # 3 seed in the Division II State. The top performers were Bella Haytayan: 6 goals, Caileen Roy: 2 goals, 2 assists, Maddison Caetano: 2 goals, Paige Mello: 1 goal, 2 assists, and Abbie Ogren: 1 assist. Hallie Bardani had 10 saves in goal.
The Girls Tennis Team lost to Oyster River 6 -3 in the quarter- final round of the Division II State Tournament. Winning for the Cavaliers were Keira Swart 9-7, Anuhya Chilakapati 8-6, and in doubles Keira/Anuhya 8-4.
