On November 14, the Hollis Brookline High School counseling office hosted the ApplyNH Day for the first time in school history. As a part of the American College Application Campaign, seniors were able to apply to any New Hampshire college for free.
Students signed up for time slots ahead of time and attended the event during appointments in the library. The event lasted from 9:00 to 12:30. During the event, students were able to get help in applying to colleges and work on their applications. There were school counselors and college representatives there to answer questions and provide assistance.
After successfully applying, students were celebrated with a bell and cheering from staff. They were also encouraged to sign a celebratory banner. Additionally, students were able to enter a raffle for a $500 scholarship. “I felt very supported and uplifted by the school counseling community as I applied,” said Angelina Costa ‘25.
This event was a great success that assisted 93 seniors in applying to colleges. “It was super helpful because I probably wouldn’t have applied without it,” said Nick MacDonald ‘25.
