Everyone knows dogs, man’s best friend, but few are aware of the best dog breed, the Chinook. The Chinook is the New Hampshire State Dog, originating from Wonalancet, NH. Chinooks are most well known for being intelligent, strong dogs that were originally bred to be sled dogs by Arthur Walden, an explorer and dog breeder from New Hampshire.
Chinooks are great dogs for people interested in a loving, and well-tempered dog. According to the Hills dog breed profile, “Chinooks are hardy, intelligent and loyal.” DogTime also rates the friendliness of the dog at five stars out of five. Chinooks are also a very versatile breed. Although they were initially bred to be working dogs, they are just as content to snuggle on the couch as they are to go on long adventures outside.
While Chinooks are an amazing dog breed, they are not made for everyone. Chinooks are large dogs that require activity, space and attention that not everybody is prepared to give them. They are a rare breed, so if you are not ready to give the maintenance they require maybe consider a different pet.
Additionally, Chinooks are an especially good breed for families interested in getting a dog because of their unique traits and intelligence. “Their patience and tolerance make them excellent companions for families with kids,” according to DogTime.
As someone with a Chinook who has had experience with a variety of other dog breeds, I believe that the Chinook is an incredibly unique breed because of their loving personality and loyalty to their owners. Another thing I love about my Chinook, Tumi, is that he enjoys both playing and adventuring outside as well as snuggling up on the couch or taking a nap.
Chinooks are the best dog for anyone looking for a loving furry companion.
