Meet Hollis Brookline High School Senior Lolly Adair. Adair is your typical student: she gets good grades, plays on the varsity volleyball team and is even committed to Haverford College. But unlike other classmates, Adair is a TikTok sensation.
Adair downloaded the popular app in 2016 when it was still called Musical.ly. She would use the app to “send vlogs” back and forth with her friends when she moved from Singapore to California. “I would post at least three times a day for my friends to see until I moved to New Hampshire,” said Adair.
In 2018, Adair made her final move to Hollis, N.H. where she attended Hollis Upper Elementary School (HUES) for sixth grade. While at HUES, Adair used her tech-savviness and comical ideas to create funny videos with her friends. Since social media had never been prominent in her friends’ lives before, Adair became influential and known for her ability to craft funny videos.
On July 4, 2024, Adair made her first viral video, which currently has 6.3 million views. Adair filmed the video at Aerie, the popular sister store of American Eagle where she used to work. “It was really slow [ in the store] so my manager wasn’t really paying attention,” said Adair.
Adair convinced co-worker and current Hollis Brookline student Ava Anderson ‘25 to take a video of Adair walking into the dressing room and pretending to get mad. Adair then put the caption, “When I notice the customer brought their boyfriend in the dressing room with them.” This led to a very humorous video considering the audio put over it, but Adair never expected it to go viral.
Since then, Adair has had several other videos go viral, all of them sharing the same comedic tone. Although Adair enjoys editing videos and making content in her free time, she doesn’t see a future in becoming an influencer. After high school, she is set to attend Haverford College where she will be playing volleyball and studying Pre-Law.
