Tough home opener loss for the Varsity Boys Volleyball team

Suffering a 3-2 loss to Pinkerton last Monday, the boys lost the match by scores of 29-31, 25-16, 22-25, 25-21 and 15-8. Battling to a five game match, the boys lacked control in the fifth game.

“It’s a game we can build upon and [it] allows us to keep working towards our goals,” outside hitter Eric Pratt ‘16 said.

While the Cavaliers Volleyball team couldn’t get a win for the books, the Cavs took away a series of small victories: senior standouts Jacob McGettigan ‘16 and Tucker McIlwrath ‘16 had an outstanding game. McGettigan, McIlwrath, and Nick Wood ‘17 led the team with seven blocks each. Wood contributed 17 kills to bring the team to win the second set of the game.

The boys look to get a win Monday (4/18) as they play an important game at home versus John Stark.
