Hollis Old Home Days: Fun for all ages
September 26, 2016
The annual Old Home Days celebration is an event that people from both Hollis and Brookline look forward to all year. Children can be seen running about, their fingers pasted stuck together with maple cotton candy and arms filled with the prizes they earned or knick knacks they’ve bought. Old Home Days is not only a place where the whole community can come together and support each other, but also an event that kids will remember as years pass in regards to their childhood.
This years Old Home Days was no different than usual. Small business owners and organizations set up shop around Nichols Field in Hollis. Hundreds of people walked the track at the local lot, meandering through the the many booths and activities. Carnival rides and arcade games lined the field, filled with people of all ages enjoying the fresh end-of-summer air.
Hollis Brookline High School was well represented in many events throughout the day. Several students participated in the festivities, enjoying fresh lemonade and fried dough with friends, or volunteering for their respective clubs and classes at the many booths.
