Hollis Brookline Girls Soccer team (12-3) got a very important win on Senior Night over Oyster River (11-3-1) by the score of 2-1. The first goal in this fast paced game finally came at 61 minutes, when Haley Modelski headed a corner kick perfectly to far post, only to see Oyster River’s defender head it sharply off the line, falling to Michele Philpot (1 goal) who struck fine finish with enough zip to go through the keeper’s touch on a fine effort. 8 minutes later HB’s Maddie McCann (1 assist) had a throw in to Magnolia Moskun (1 goal) who launched a stunning 25 yard finish to far post. The action remained furious, with Oyster River converting a PK in the 77th minute, but HB stayed composed to hold on for the win. Olivia Cleghorn had 10 saves, including a spectacular 2nd half tip save, denying Oyster River a certain goal.The JV team also won 3-1.
