Results from Saturday/Sunday – Oct. 27th/28th :
The Volleyball team improved to 19-0 with a 3-0 sweep over Pinkerton in the quarter-final round of the Division I Volleyball Tournament. Scores of the games were 25-11, 25-17, and 25-13. Top performers were Elizabeth Atkinson 2 blocks, Sammie Sheppard 6 digs,Maddie Norris 10 kills 9 digs, Kayleigh Whalen 5 kills 4 aces and Kyra Belden 4 aces 19 assists 8 digs. In addition,  two school records were broken, as Liz Atkinson owns the school’s career block record, formerly held by Ari Creighton (2011) and Sammie Sheppard’s name is next to the career dig record, formerly held by Bella Zampieri (2015).
The Division II Cross-Country Championships were held at Derryfield Park with the girls finishing 12th with 327 points, and the boys finished 10th with 274 points at Saturday’s Division 2 Cross Country Championship. In the girls race Amy Pattelena finished in 22nd place with a fine race and qualified for the Meet of Champions next Saturday at Nashua South. Kay Partridge, Lily Jackson, Carolyn Hultz, and Victoria Rezzarday rounded our the scoring for Hollis Brookline. In the boy’s race Kenny Corsetti finished in 21st place and qualified for the Meet of Champions. John Kotelly had a fine race finishing in 43rd place with a time of 18:23. Matt Hutchinson, Jake LaBorde, and Nate Sartell rounded out the scoring for Hollis Brookline.
The Boys Soccer team traveled to Pembroke Academy for a quarter-final game against the Spartans and lost 2-1 in double overtime. Scoring the lone goal for HB was
Dale Jacobs on a penalty kick after Bryan Wright was taken down in the 18 yard box in the 18th minute of the second half. Pembroke scored 5 minutes later to force overtime. In the OT, the Spartans found the back of the net to win the game . Ryan Coutu had 11 saves, one of them being a penalty kick just before the end of regulation time.
Mark Labak, Kyle Simpson, Joey Dias, and Dale Jacobs played well in their final match as seniors.
The Football team traveled to Souhegan to play their last regular game of the season against South Division leader St. Thomas (7-1). A must win for the Cav’s, they jumped out to a 22-0 lead before the Saints started their comeback outscoring the Cav’s 43 to 14 the rest of the way to beat the Cav’s 43 – 36. The Cav’s finish their season at 5-4.
Games for Monday – Oct. 29th :
The Girls Soccer team hosts Milford in a NHIAA Division II quarter final game at 3:30pm in a game that was postponed from Sunday. The Girls Soccer team will be dismissed at 2:15pm.
The Jv Football game scheduled to St. Thomas has been cancelled.
Other games this week :
The Volleyball team will travel to Pinkerton on Wednesday Oct 31st for a NHIAA Division I semi-final game against Spaulding. Game time is slated for 7pm.
