Girls Lacrosse Wins Division II State Championship

Linda Haytayan, Girls Lacrosse Coach

The Girls Lacrosse team defeated Hanover 12-11 in the NHIAA Division II Girls Lacrosse Championship game. HB had the lead until 2:24 minutes left on the clock when Hanover scored to tie the game 11-11. Bella Haytayan came up with a critical Caused Turnover on our defensive end and transitioned it downfield.
Paige Mello scored the winning goal from a pass by Alyssa Hill with 19 seconds left in the game.  We lost the next draw; however, our impressive defensive unit, Daniella Allanach, Paige Magnuszewski, Julia Vella and Juliette Ogren had several stops and Caused Turnovers allowing our attack to do their job.
Scoring Summary:  Alyssa Hill 4 Goals 3 Assists, Sabrina Hill 3 Goals 1 Assist, Paige Mello 3 Goals, Bella Haytayan 1 Goal and  Cailean Roy 1 Goal.
Addy Dougherty 8 saves in Goal.
CONGRATULATIONS FOR BRINGING HOME OUR FIRST D2 STATE CHAMPIONSHIP in GIRLS LACROSSE.
