Hollis Brookline High School will have the pleasure of hosting a Skype conversation with Diane Gayeski, the Dean of Ithaca College, during CAV Block on Wednesday, November 30. Gayeski plans to speak about the benefits of a communications major, and specifically the education one could receive from Ithaca’s Park School of Communications.
A common misconception regarding a communications major is that it is only for the “brilliantly creative;” that is, the Stephen Spielbergs and J.K. Rowlings of the world. However, Gayeski emphasizes that a communications major can be helpful in any profession. Whether you love or hate writing, have a passion for music, or a thing for NASCAR, whomever majors in communication can find a way to combine it with their other interests to form a career that is both fun and rewarding.
If you are interested, you can join Gayeski in lab 141A on Wednesday.
