Scott VanCoughnett

Scott VanCoughnett, Features Editor

Scott VanCoughnett is the Features Editor for the CavChron Newspaper at HBHS. He is a current senior, and Senior Class Vice President, and Leader of the Student Activities Committee. He is a two season varsity athlete and captain for both the basketball and volleyball teams. He is an avid sports fan, and the head reporter for the Life of a Cavalier stories. Outside of school, he loves to play basketball and golf with his friends and family. Scott has been a Hollis citizen for all of his life and plans on staying within New England after he graduates from Hollis Brookline. He plans to pursue a career in marketing or advertising when he makes it to college.

A simple sandwich sits waiting to be eaten. John Champa of Nashua claims “If you say that is has to have two pieces of bread, which isn’t true, let’s say the hotdog bun rips, is it a sandwich then?” In this instance, we see a sandwich that has an English muffin surrounding it, an English muffin that was once in one piece much like that of a hotdog bun.

This year’s mathletes hunker down and power through some Calculus homework. They have another couple of meets coming up this season and need to prepare for them the best they can. Plummer gave some insight to their preparation by saying, “currently our team members only practice once per month, but we have just begun to offer weekly practice opportunities to both provide more flexibility for our team members and to try to improve our team's performance.”

Some of the souvenirs that Buckle Up NH handed out to kids for attending their conference in order to encourage safe choices. Hollis Brookline’s Shannon O’Connor ‘18 stays safe on the road by, “not touching [her] phone and staying alert to everyone around [her].” That is the behavior that Buckle Up NH is trying to encourage by advertising safety.

He has been known to juggle for thousands of touches in a row, and it translates to great control and skill on the field. Brackett said he’s excited for college soccer, and he cannot wait to continue his career.
