Showing the spirit: The week ahead

As the Penny Wars wrapped up with Friday’s final bell, it’s now just a question of who will earn the ultimate Spirit Week victory.

Find out who won the wars when Spirit Week kicks off this Monday, April 18.

Preparations are already underway[and nearly complete] for the coveted stretch before April break. Each class is hard at work writing their scripts, perfecting group dance routines, and planning the design for their posters.

The lineup for the coming week looks like it will be incredibly fun.

According to the schedules posted in the hallways, Spirit Week will begin comfortably as it kicks off with pajama day. The opening ceremony will be held on Monday during an allotted time at the end of the school day, and will feature the robotics team, a performance by the pep band, and a quick game of basketball between the Unified team and the HB staff.

Following pajama day, HB will reel in the warmth with Tropical Tuesday. On Wednesday, the student body dress up patriotically for USA day. Then, for Thursday, the color scheme will evolve from red, white, and blue to every color of the rainbow on Tie-Dye Day.

On Friday, the last day of Spirit Week, everyone will await in anticipation for Spring Break to finally begin. Students are encouraged to wear Hollis Brookline colors (white and blue) while seniors will have the opportunity to show off their senior shirts. As the closing ceremony of Spirit Week commences each class will present their skits in hopes of earning the Spirit Stick. A presentation by the Spirit Squad will also take place, and once the festivities have concluded, it’ll finally be time for the best spring break ever!
So get your spirit on and prepare yourself for the spirit-filled week of fun to come!
