Eleanor Quarles

Eleanor Quarles, Editor in Chief

Eleanor Quarles is the Editor in Chief of the CavChron and currently a senior. She is also a competitive figure skater. When she’s not at school, she spends her time at the rink, both practicing and working behind the front desk. Within HBHS, she is a senior class Student Council member and Spanish Club officer. In her free time she loves to ski, hike, and spend time with friends. Next year she will be heading to college to study Spanish and International Relations.

“It was a unique experience that makes me want to go back there [to New Orleans] and learn more about the music culture and history,” said Frank Pugh ‘18, an Honors Choir student on the trip.

The New England Patriots will be taking the field on Sunday against the Jaguars, with the AFC title and a spot in the Super Bowl on the line. Hollis Brookline Patriots fans are hopeful about their chances for a sixth ring this year. Matt Simco ‘18 said, “I feel really good about the offense and defense; they’re coming together at the right time.”

School starts at 7:40AM this year, 25 minutes later than the 7:15AM start time in previous years. Although feedback about change has been mostly positive, it means that students who take the bus have to kill time before class starts.

The Varsity football team celebrates after their win against ConVal last week. They beat the Cougars 21-13 on ConVal’s home field. With the beginning of playoffs fast approaching, scoreboard operator and fan Alex Basbas said that he thinks “this year might be the year” for the Cavs.

Adam Wilcox dunks fellow physics teacher Eric Perry at the Senior Class Booth. Volunteers in the dunk tank included HBHS teachers, HBMS Principal Bob Thompson, and high school SRO Rick Bergeron. When asked how successful the fundraisers was, senior class advisor Tracy Gray said, “I think this was one of our best ones yet.”
