Amanda Brown ‘21 is excited to join the 2019-2020 CavChron staff and to be welcomed as the Op-Ed editor. She has a passion for informative writing and continuously keeps up with numerous news outlets. When Amanda is not writing, she is volunteering with HB the Change, helping the New Hampshire region. She can also be seen studying for her other classes or hanging out with her friends. Amanda is thrilled for the opportunities that CavChron can offer and to report amongst the community.

he New Hampshire Primaries are approaching swiftly. With only four candidates left, it is anyone’s race in New Hampshire. According to Biden and team, they feel like the New Hampshire primaries should not be where their focus lies, as South Carolina looks more promising.

Tom Brady, six time Super Bowl champion, has retirement rumors circulating. He has been with the Patriots since 2000 and has been their starting quarterback since 2001. “I will always be a Patriots fan, but if Tom Brady were to retire or if he were to go somewhere else being a free agent this year, I would always want his team to win except when they are playing the Patriots,” said Stevenson.

These are the candidates who are committed to become the President of the United States in 2020, but whether the electorate votes in their favor, is yet to be decided. There are currently fifteen Democrats and three Republicans. Steve Bullock, a Democratic candidate that dropped out in early December said, “'[Bullock] be able to break through to the top tier of this still-crowded field of candidates.'”

The boys of the Hollis Brookline football team fought hard at the DII NHIAA Football Championship. This was the football team’s first appearance in the championship game. “I felt like it was a great end to one of the most fun seasons I’ve ever played,” said Parr.

These drinks are new additions to the Hollis-Brookline High School’s cafeteria. The Ice caffeinated drinks and cold brew coffee have been flying off of the shelves for the past two weeks. However, according to King, the Snapple that has been offered contains caffeine as well.

The students lined the softball field as they test their final trebuchet constructions. The kids had over a month to prepare for such a feat and, even though stressful, it was still exciting. “Our group has had a lot of fun designing it and going through the process,” said Plummer.

This is one of their final home games before the Division I semifinals. “It’s a volleyball family here from the middle school, to the JV teams to the varsity team, and I think it’s great to try and create something that’s bigger than yourself, it just takes on a life of its own,” says Balfour.
