Megan Strecker ‘20 is a chatty individual who enjoys user interface (UI) and user experience (UX) design. As CavChron’s 2019-2020 Web Editor, she maintains and updates the platform. Megan has been practicing UI and UX design since 2013, aiding several local businesses with their own virtual media. Although she embraces her extroverted self, Megan loves curling up in warm blankets with her cat Cheetah while she works on her next project.

Depending on the amount of sugar in the cookie and how long it’s in the oven, the color may change. Some cookies become pale, others golden brown, and some an ashy black. Jade Weaver ‘21 said, “I don’t think I want to eat anything that’s the color of the school [walls], so I’ll go with a nice golden brown in a cookie!”

Project-based midterms are becoming increasingly popular at H.B.H.S. They tend to be more favorable since they can be applied to a variety of skill sets learned throughout the first semester. “I would have more project-based or expression-based stuff where the students are applying the things they have learned in a more proactive setting instead of a stationary setting,” said Ari Frankel ‘21.

A long line of children waited patiently to take a photo with Saint Nick and his elves. After taking their photo, they were given a complimentary candy cane. Jen Hunt said, “The most fun part of the event is seeing all of the families that come out to something old-fashioned by coming to see the Town Common lit by thousands of white candle lit bags, watch the parade and visit Santa.”

Students participated in the Oct. 28 Holiday for Heroes party, while indulging in cookies and apple cider. They signed 323 cards over the course of the event, but the Red Cross Club hopes to collect more. For those interested in future events relating to Holiday for Heroes, Lorenzo Occhialini ‘20 said, “If you just come in for 15 minutes and write out a few cards, that is a huge help to us.”
